I’m voting for Jamie McLeod-Skinner for U.S. Congress because Medicare, health care and honesty are important to me. Jamie is unequivocal in her support of Medicare and access to affordable health care for everyone.
Her opponent and his party are now trying to fool us into thinking that, after years of trying to slash Medicare, abolish the Affordable Care Act, and end protections for pre-existing conditions, that they are champions of health care protections. Not true.
Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining. Do they think we’re stupid? Our current representative was the architect of the mean plan to end the ACA, and the stated goals and policies of his party are to replace Medicare with inadequate vouchers, end subsidies that help people buy insurance, and end regulations that prevent insurers from discriminating against people with pre-existing conditions.
The choice is clear — if you believe that Medicare is a bad thing and that the government shouldn’t protect people with pre-existing conditions, vote for the incumbent. If you believe, as I do, that Medicare is worth defending and that we need to ensure health insurance coverage even for those who have health problems, vote for Jamie McLeod-Skinner. Our health depends on it.
