Divine laws
To the editor:
The Bible is a fascinating book revealing Divine wisdom. It is not an exposition of human theology about God.
As such it can’t be interpreted as if it were a novel or a history book.
And one very unique characteristic of the Holy Bible is that it often tells the end in the beginning.
The human (Adam) fell from God’s grace because he allowed his helpmate to lead him astray and convince him to violate divine law.
The character that Adam calls variously, “wife, Eve, Mother of All Living” is first called “Helpmate,” or “a power against him,” in the Hebrew “ezer kenegdo.”
This becomes “the powers that be” in the New Testament who rule over evil. As long as Adam follows divine law and not the laws of this world, Adam will be fine.
God’s laws don’t require legislation, and can’t be improved upon or altered for convenience.
So, whatever any particular nation allows through its laws can be gracefully declined by the man or woman of faith.
Because we have free will, there is no need to protest or try to prohibit others.
Simply obey God’s divine laws as you can best understand them, and lead your life in a most exemplary and loving way to imitate our Lord, Jesus Christ, and all is well.
