Letter to the Editor: An unflappable choice

I met Jenni at a coffee shop during the wee morning hours and left saying to myself, “That’s a congresswoman!”

Jenni is a moderate, unflappable, palliative care physician and kidney physician who lives in Central Oregon. She struck me as someone very much like we are in The Dalles — willing to roll up her sleeves, work across the political aisle, solve problems and advocate for Eastern Oregon. She’ll advocate for jobs and economic development and public health.

Ultimately, we need someone who’s not a DC-insider serving the lobbyists and leadership, but who presents an independent Oregon point of view — like a Hatfield, Roberts or Huffman, for whom I also voted.
