Youth of Heart of Hospice/YoHOH visited the home of Bobbi and Bud Jones for their Thanksgiving outing. During their visit, they delivered homemade Thanksgiving cards, shared a few silly turkey jokes, and then received the warmest of welcomes from the Joneses, reports Jayne Mederios, Heart of Hospice volunteer coordinator.
Mederios also said that winter swags, “made with love by Odell Garden Club volunteers” for Heart of Hospice patients, has now become an annual event. She added to some details provided in the Dec. 10 edition, in which Odell Garden Club President Norma Curtis and Vice President Judy Wols, along with members Jackie Shaw, Jill Mcfee, Margaret Taylor, and Diana Carroll, met with Mederios and YoHOH Julia Skwarczynski and Ivan Castillo.
“A very special thank you to the Odell Garden Club who come prepared, provide materials, creativity and their dedication whenever we ask for their help with swags, flowers, and special projects — anytime we need their help throughout the year,” Mederios said. “Volunteer Buck Hobbs provided transportation and helped with delivery of the swags around his busy workday, and always makes time to help with Heart of Hospice projects,” she said. “Thank you to the Youth of Heart of Hospice who attend monthly events bringing smiles, song and gifts to Hospice patients throughout the year.”
