Hood River Soil & Water Conservation District , Nov. 6 — The district developed a policy for interactions with immigration officials, particularly at events, and is considering partnering on a $6.2 million federal grant to reduce wildfire risk. Klickitat County Board of Health, Nov. 4 — Beyond SNAP and WIC payment delays due to the federal shutdown, funding for a federal health grant to help mothers and children is uncertain, and money to prepare for health emergencies has been cut. Skamania County Board of Commissioners, Oct. 14 — The burn ban has been lifted and campgrounds winterized, but dry camping is still available at Big Cedar. Middle Fork Irrigation District Board, Oct. 21 — The next step in the Clear Branch Dam remediation project — a draft environmental impact statement — is on hold due to the federal government shutdown.
