Notable incidents
Three theft reports. Shoplifting at Walmart (two incidents), property stolen from residence.
Two unlawful entry into vehicle reports. Two vehicles were broken into while parked at the Gorge Athletic Club and purses stolen from each.
Two hit-and-run reports on Sieverkropp Drive/Seventh Court and 700 block of May Street.
Officers arrested a Salem resident for DUII - alcohol.
Officers responded to a fight in the Rosauers bottle recycling room.
The Dalles Police, Nov. 1 - 8
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Assault (one), charge not logged (one), DUII (one), escape (one), harassment (one), mischief (one), possession of methamphetamine (one), public urination (one), trespass (three), violation of no contact order (one), warrants (five).
Notable incidents
Twenty-two animal calls. Dog welfare checks, missing cat came back, kitten tossed in trash but rescued, dogs at large, dog bite, barking dogs, missing dogs.
Seven theft reports. Stolen vehicle, portable Ice-Co, e-bike (two), motorcycle, marina key from boat. In one incident, a vehicle’s real license plates were replaced with plates from a stolen, still-missing vehicle while its owner was inside Safeway.
A person was cited after a vehicle crash on Second.
Eight mental health calls.
A vandalism report taken for someone who banged on a neighbor’s door with a rock during a dispute.
A person was arrested for trespass and possession of methamphetamine.
Possible drugs found in a Bret Clodfelter Way restroom were taken for destruction.
Several firearms were burgled from a safe in a Tenth-Street residence.
One of two racing motorcycles on Eighth Street crashed.
Two hit-and-run reports. In one case, someone backed into an unoccupied moped.

Oregon State Police, Nov. 1 - 8
The following crimes resulted in arrests: Misdemeanor driving while suspended (one), take/possession of non-adipose fin clipped steelhead (two).
Notable incidents
Three waterfowl hunters got violation citations for possession of a goose, a snow goose, three mallards and a wigeon after hunting in the John Day Wildlife Refuge. The fowl were seized for Salvation Army.
Two fishing rods hidden in the bushes at Eagle Creek.
A Fish and Wildlife cellular camera was stolen from Eagle Creek on Sept. 26. The camera’s GPS placed it in a Portland-area residence. Digital pictures and video were found of the suspect removing the cable-locked camera from a tree, and unlawfully taking two salmon or steelhead from the mouth of the creek. The unlicensed angler was also reported taking five or six salmon or streelhead during the incident. They are “avoiding law enforcement contact and not returning calls.”
Three hunters shot two geese near the Deschutes River. They were cited for taking geese in a closed season.
Two anglers received criminal citations for retaining four wild native steelhead on the John Day River.
Two injury crashes. A driver sustained minor abrasions from airbags during a vehicle versus deer crash on I-85, milepost 59 eastbound, on Nov. 2. Their blue Toyota Camry was totaled. Separately, another Subaru Crosstrek vs. deer collision on I-84 resulted in a damaged car. The driver was assessed by EMS.
A hunter passed through a CWD check station with a bull elk head from Idaho which still contained the brain. That’s a violation: unlawful importation restriction of cervid parts. An ODFW biologist reported the incident, and a Fish and Wildlife trooper investigated. The head’s antlers were cut off at the pedicle, and kept by the hunter, along with a citation; the head was seized for destruction. In another incident, a hunter was cited for importing restricted cervid parts after bringing an intact whitetail deer brain and spinal column to a CWD check station from Idaho.
Three adults cited for angling with bait at Laurance Lake. Five bull trout seized for donation to the Discovery Center raptor program.
OSP seized several Visa Debits cards from a subject who claimed they found them.
A non-injury crash. A Honda crossing US-97 struck a Ford.
