Bingen-White Salmon Police, Nov. 4 - 10
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Possession of controlled substance (one), warrant (two).
Notable incidents
Three non-injury crashes, one caused by a vehicle improperly backing up in White Salmon; another in Bingen; and collision with deer in White Salmon.
Drug needles from Bingen safely disposed of.
Officers couldn’t find an alleged cougar, nor a dog at large.
A fire in White Salmon Nov. 13, under investigation.
Hood River Police, Nov. 10 - 23
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: DUII (three), theft (three), warrant (three).
Notable incidents
Two warrant arrests. In one, a transient person was lodged at NORCOR on 10 warrants issued from Hood River County.
Nine theft reports. Shoplifting (six), fraudulent check deposited by a business, fraudulent email sent to business diverting payment to a new account, mislaid property (cellphone, tablet and drone). In another incident, a retail store reported an individual who changed price tags on items before buying them. Photos and video were obtained to identify the person.
Three DUII arrests. In two, drivers admitted to using alcohol. The third refused a breath test, so a warrant was granted for blood to be drawn.
Three non-injury vehicle crashes. In one, a driver fell asleep, hitting a parked vehicle on Second Street. Airbags deployed and the vehicle was towed. Separately, an RV crashed into Hood River Hotel, after striking other vehicles.
Four hit-and-run reports. In one, a driver reportedly went through a barrier at a business. The reporting party provided photos and video for further investigation.
The Dalles Police, Nov. 15 - 27
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Assault (three), DUII (three), escape (one), ID theft (one), mischief (one), possession of controlled substance (three), reckless driving (one), robbery (one), theft (six), trespass (three), warrant (14).
Notable incidents
Seventeen theft reports. Vehicle from Cherry Heights dealership, items from storage unit (three), phone, tool, ID theft (two), shoplifting (two), funds from Center For Living, tow dolly from Sixth-Street lot, clothes from dryer, theft of services, items from vehicle, wallet.
Thirty animal calls. Dogs at large, deer stuck in yard, dogs fighting, dogs barking, fence blew down, dog welfare checks, cat stuck in shed, neglected cat.
A juvenile was cited and released for allegedly causing a fire in a boys’ bathroom on E. 12th Street.
A person was arrested and lodged for assault IV and escape III after a domestic incident.
A black GMC struck a jay-walking pedestrian on W. Sixth. Report taken.
Five vehicle crash reports. In one incident, a driver got two citations including one for DUII after a minor two-vehicle crash on Mt. Hood Street. Separately, a semi hit a tree branch on Washington Street. The limb, extracted from the vehicle, partly blocked the road and was removed by Public Works. Also, truck rolled through stop-sign and rear-ended other vehicle. Another vehicle was found hanging partly over a property line on Sixth, with driver inside, and towed.
Medics assisted a male who overdosed on W. Seventh.
Two burglary reports. Tools were taken from a 10th Street garage the night before Nov. 18. Tools were taken from a 13th Street shed on Nov. 20.
Fifty-six mental health calls.
Report taken for use of police drone on Aga Road.
Fraud report for $12,000 stolen from bank account.
Baggie of suspected meth collected on Mt. Hood Street.
Illegal dumping reported on 13th Street.
Person transported by medics for dangerously high level of intoxication.
Complaints of rooster noise on I Street.
Webber/Second underpass flooded in the rain on Nov. 22. Caution signs were posted.
Prowler reported on 14th Street, allegedly menacing person with an ax-like weapon.
Ten warrant arrests. In one incident, a person was arrested at taser point on Verdant.
Two people were cited for public indecency together on Sixth.
Wasco County Sheriff, Nov. 14 - 27
Notable incidents
Two identity theft reports.
Seven vehicle crashes. US-197, W. Sixth, Price/Ross roads (two), Fifteenmile, Highway 216. One blocked Skyline Road on Nov. 14.
Deputies logged 181 vehicle stops.
Twenty-four dog calls and six for various animals.
Eight warrant incidents.
Four thefts on Main Street, Chenowith Creek, Sandlin Road, Threemile.
Two DUII incidents.
Stolen vehicle on Smock Road.
An alleged gunshot on Discovery Drive.
A death on Chenowith Creek, a death on Dufur Valley Road.
Oregon State Police, Nov. 15 - 26
The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: DUII (three), driving while suspended or revoked (one), reckless driving (one), unlawful possession of firearm (one), warrant (four).
Notable incidents
Three non-injury crashes. Semi-truck hit a guardrail on Highway 97 and was disabled in the southbound lane of travel near milepost 3 for about 30 minutes before a deputy located it. OSP responded; driver was cited, truck towed. A sideswipe between a Honda and semi-truck on Highway 97. A single Ford F250 sideswiped the I-84 concrete divider.
Poached deer held for evidence.
Theft at Viento State Park discovered Nov. 21. A lock was broken and about $1,869 worth of items taken. No evidence or suspect was found.
In two separate incidents on Nov. 22 and 24, concealed handguns were seized from drivers, who were stopped on I-84 for speeding 81 and 78 mph respectively. Neither driver had a concealed handgun license and both were cited and released.
One injury crash. A Penske box truck, northbound on Highway 97, left its lane of travel, left the opposite shoulder and rolled down an embankment. Both occupants were transported to an area hospital for minor injuries, the driver — stating they lost control due to ice — warned for driving too fast for conditions.
