OHA seeks public input about Adventist Health Columbia Gorge
THE GORGE — The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is asking community members how the recent change in ownership may have affected health care services at Mid-Columbia Medical Center (MCMC), now called Adventist Health Columbia Gorge (AHCG). In June 2023, Adventist Health bought MCMC in The Dalles. The OHA reviewed and approved this deal and is now doing a one-year follow-up review, required by state law.
“We’re seeking to hear from patients, health care providers, employees, community members, and health plan representatives who have interacted with AHCG hospital or clinics in the past year,” read a press release.

FISH summer appeal
HOOD RIVER — FISH Food Bank, dedicated to alleviating hunger in Hood River County and the surrounding area, is seeing an increase in need.
FISH’s three food pantries — Hood River, Parkdale and Cascade Locks — serve more than 1,500 individuals each month. In the past year, Hood River has experienced an 80% rise in client requests, including a 60% increase in children. There has also been a surge of clients over the age of 65.
As a nonprofit, FISH receives no monetary funds from federal, state or local governments and relies on grants and donations.
“We encourage you to donate this summer to help provide food for the more than 600 families, including 400 children, FISH serves each month,” said Jacqueline Carey, FISH executive director. “Thank you for being part of the solution and helping to alleviate hunger in our community.”
