News briefs: April 23, 2025

Power outage Saturday — The loss of a transmission line caused a power outage in Hood River and Wasco counties beginning at about 6 p.m. on April 19. Pacific Power reported the outage affected 7,276 customers in Hood River County and 720 in Wasco County. Most of Hood River County had power restored by about 7:45 p.m. that evening, with the rest back online as of 3:24 a.m. on April 20. The cause is under investigation.

Urban Renewal Advisory Committee — The City of Hood River is accepting applications to serve on the Urban Renewal Advisory Committee. Application packets may be obtained at City Hall, City of 211 2nd St., or cityofhoodriver.gov/urban-renewal/urban-renewal-advisory-committee.
