White House launches fraud dashboard, touts success

The administration's Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, formally announced in February, sought to partner with agencies across the executive branch to combat fraud. 

The dashboard reports three figures from each executive agency: fraud uncovered, fraud stopped and fraud enforced. 

Fraud uncovered counts totals estimated through data analysis, fraud stopped represents agency actions and fraud enforced tracks how much money each agency recovered in pursuing fraud. 

The Small Business Administration leads all other executive agencies in uncovered fraud at $122.9 billion, and $22.6 billion recovered since January 2025. 

The SBA referred 562,000 borrowers with $22.2 billion in fraudulent Payment Protection Program funds to the U.S. Treasury Department as part of the effort, according to the dashboard.

California topped the country with 115,879 suspensions and $8.7 billion in fraudulent funds taken. 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services came behind the SBA in fraud spending, with $96.2 billion in uncovered fraud since January 2025. Of that fraud, $30.5 billion has been enforced. The Department of Labor followed with $7 billion in uncovered fraud and $1.6 billion enforced, while the Department of Education reported $2 billion in fraud and $35 million enforced. 

The dashboard also highlighted several examples where the fraud task force uncovered fraud or paused payments. The administration pointed to its pause of more than $2 billion and $500 million in Medicaid payments to California and Minnesota, respectively. 

The administration also touted the decertification of Medicaid Fraud Control Units in New York and Hawaii due to poor performance. The dashboard said it halted $60 million in annual payments from New York and $2 million in annual payments from Hawaii due to the decertification. 

The dashboard also reported a surge in enforcement against Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program retailers. The task force permanently disqualified 735 retailers from participating in SNAP, saving an estimated $141.7 million per year. 

Additionally, the White House dashboard reports a running list of prosecutions and charges against individuals suspected of fraud. The website lists a May 21, 2026, charge against 15 individuals in Minnesota for over $90 million in fraud. 

"DOJ charged 15 individuals in a Minnesota healthcare fraud scheme exceeding $90 million, the highest loss ever charged in a state Medicaid case and the largest autism-services fraud ever prosecuted," the dashboard reads. 

The list also includes charges against 11 individuals in California for real estate and loan fraud. Among the individuals were two foreign nationals, according to the database. 

"The Trump Administration will not rest until every scheme is exposed, every recoverable dollar is returned to the American people, and public trust in is restored," the website reads.
