(The Center Square) – Enbridge’s proposed Line 5 tunnel beneath the Straits of Mackinac is facing new hurdles as Gov. Gretchen Whitmer doubles down on her opposition to the project.

Whitmer, a Democrat, has joined environmental groups and Native American tribal nations in opposing the project since it was first proposed in 2018.
