Julius Davis the running back from Milwaukee, a Bobcat who will always have you back

Mr. Davis how to football career of a his own, and has been practicing and coaching Julius since day one.

“I actually drove him and his girlfriend from Wisconsin to Bozeman,” Mr. Davis said.

Julius is a running back, and from Milwaukee—and he played in Wisconsin for a while.

“Do you feel like this was the right move [to Bozeman]?” Bradley Warren asked, “I do—he lost his love for the game,” Mr. Davis said, “For him this was better.” 

Mr. Davis went on to explain that growing up he used to drive him some 30 minutes to play football. He started on a flag team.. and well.. they had to move them up to tackle pretty quickly. 

He loved the game. 

“Id take my kid—to do the ladder drills – when he was in the second grade teach in his foot work,” Mr. Davis said.

But come game day—he’s just like any other parent, nervously watching in the stands. 

“I want him to touch the ball--  but then I’m like don’t,” Mr. Davis said laughingly.

Julius decision to come to Bozeman came after a former coach opened his eyes to the idea,  – but he’s much more than a guy who can run the ball. 

Hes smart. 

“He was like look—I want to get my masters so if you want me, I need to have a masters program,” Mr. Davis said, he added “there’s no reason for me to come here if you don’t have that.”

And MSU did, all and all it was the right fit, on top of things clicking with the team – hes been able to pursue his Master’s in Business 

“I feel like he’s accomplished a lot,” Bradley Warren said, ”He has—he’s the first in our immediate family to earn a masters.” Mr. Davis said 

Mr. Davis admits that his son can come off as intense, but says get to know him. He's a good kid.

“If you don’t know him—you might think he’s this ferocious guy,.. you know [like a big] athlete guy,” Mr. Davis said.

But it’s passion, and love for the game—he says get to know his son, hell have your back.   

“I’m proud of him,” Mr. Davis said.
