Daisy Dolan and Jake Kenney advertise the eighth annual Tour de Coop — scheduled this year for May 21 — put on annually by the Valley Critters 4-H Club.
The Hood River Farmers’ Market enjoyed a sunny opening day May 7 at its new location at the Fifth and Columbia parking lot, located across from Full Sail Brewing Company. Shoppers enjoyed both farm and craft vendors, live music and even kombucha. The market will be open each Saturday through November from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. New additions to the market include specialty cocktails and Full Sail beer, cornhole games for youth and adults, cooking demonstrations, Veggie Prescription redemption, and $5 SNAP match on EBT transactions. Free parking is also available.
Daisy Dolan, a junior at Hood River Valley High School, and Jake Kenney, a senior who is homeschooled, were also onsite, spreading the word for the eighth annual Tour de Coop, which is Dolan’s Extended Application (EA) project this year. The tour, sponsored by the 4-H Club Valley Critters, will be held May 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with maps available at Little Bit Ranch Supply and Grow Organic.
