Providence Hood River nurses march, rally
Brittany Foss, ONA's bargaining co-chair looks to hand off the microphone during the Oregon Nurses Association march in Hood River on July 1. Hood River showed its support for nurses while marching from Jackson Park to downtown Hood River and meeting on the Hood River Library lawn where speakers encouraged Providence Memorial Hospital to improve working conditions for nurses.
In a statement to Columbia Gorge News regarding the rally and march, Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital said, “Providence Hood River has a long history of working together with ONA to resolve differences and find common ground. At a time when we believe real progress is being made, it’s unfortunate that this staged event is taking time and energy away from the bargaining process. We have had nine negotiating sessions since Feb. 1, 2022. Providence believes we solve more by talking than by walking.”
