KLICKITAT & SKAMANIA COS. — Below are the final results from the Aug. 4 primary election in Klickitat and Skamania counties. Columbia Gorge News only tracks contested local races for public office, along with ballot measures.
Under Washington’s system, the top two vote-getters will advance to the general election on Nov. 3 regardless of party. For races with just two candidates running, both will still appear on the general election ballot, but whoever won the primary will be listed first.
Klickitat County
Out of 16,572 registered voters in the county, 8,276 ballots had been counted, amounting to a 50% voter turnout.

Note: This proposition would fund fire protection and emergency medical services by establishing the District's existing regular property tax levy in 2026 at $1.15 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation and authorize annual adjustments for the nine succeeding years based on the greater of one percent or the 12-month West Region CPI-U reported in June of each levy year.

Home Valley Water District, Proposition 1
Note: This proposition would authorize the District to replace an expiring levy for financing maintenance and capital improvement expenses. The one-year levy rate, to be excised in 2027, would be $0.57 per $1,000 of assessed valuation and capped at $25,000 if passed.
