Driver Raymond LeMons of Salem, center, walked away from a rollover accident Monday afternoon, northbound at the first curve on Highway 35 just south of Hood River. LeMons talks with Oregon State Police Trooper Travis Paulson and Hood River Towing Company employee Kenton Chandler. LeMons said a tire blew out on his 2008 Altima, causing the car to leave the roadway and flip over into the blackberry-filled ditch and come to rest against a tree. “I was skidding and I flipped and I just ducked and covered. I know I’m really lucky I didn’t get hurt. It’ll probably really hit me sometime tonight,” said LeMons, who is an ironworker employed at the Cardinal IG plant in Odell. Citations were pending investigation.
