Who doesn’t love bacon?
The fourth annual Helping Hands Against Violence Aporkalypse Now: The Gorge’s Best Bacon Fest will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 from 6-9 p.m. at Springhouse Cellar Winery. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this event help domestic violence survivors to change the patterns of their lives and create a life free from abuse, said a press release.
“Aporkalypse Now is a night of sizzling salty fun to support the serious work of Helping Hands Against Violence, a local non-profit which supports survivors of abuse,” said the press release.
Attendees can devour the best bacon bites in the Gorge, recite favorite original poems about cured pork belly, or show off in the Kevin Bacon look-alike contest.
“It’s an evening of bringing together those who can cook with bacon and those who go hog wild over the salty savory. Restaurants vie for the coveted Golden Ticket to the World Food Championships — and your taste buds get to pick the winner!” said the press release.
Reserve tickets online at www.helpinghandsoregon. org or at the door ($25 adults, $10 kids). Families are welcome.
