THE GORGE — AARP Foundation is providing free tax assistance and preparation through its Gorge Tax Aide Program by appointment only beginning Feb. 3 through April 14
Appointments can be made at gorgetaxaide.simplybook.me. All details and requirements are available at the booking site.
Schedule is as follows:
Appointments at The Pioneer Center located at 501 NE Washington St. in White Salmon are scheduled by calling 509-493-3068. Appointments are available Tuesdays, Feb. 4 through April 8 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Mondays only: Columbia Gorge Community College, Hood River Campus, 1730 College Way, 1-5 p.m.; Facilitated Self Assistance (FSA) and Tax Counselor appointments are available; see details, below.
Thursdays only: Hood River Valley Adult Center, 2010 Sterling Place, 2-5 p.m.
Fridays only: Mid-Columbia Senior Center, 1112 W. Ninth St., The Dalles, 3-6 p.m.; FSA and Tax Counselors appointments are available.
Saturdays only: Mid-Columbia Senior Center, 9 a.m. to noon; FSA and Tax Counselor appointments are available.

Facilitated Self Assistance provides taxpayer access to free self-prep tax services combining the computer skills of the taxpayer, the intuitive programming of tax software with the expertise of certified volunteers when/if needed to produce an accurate, self-prepared tax return. Requirement: Adjusted gross income of $84,000 or less and you must be computer literate.
