Eagles top Forest Grove, 11-10, in eight innings

Hood River’s come-from-behind win March 15 over Forest Grove saw the hosts score the game winner in the bottom of the eighth inning. Forest Grove held leads of 6-2 after two innings and 10-8 midway through the fifth. But HRV struck for two runs to tie the game in the bottom half of the frame.

Senior Jordan Webber threw no-hit, no-walk baseball over the final three innings, keeping the Vikings scoreless. The lefty struck out six and earned the win.

Offensively, HRV was led by senior Grady Williams and Webber, who each had two hits – one of Williams’ hits was a double. Senior Hunter Duckwall knocked in two runs and sophomore Maverick Hockett had three RBI for the Eagles.

Hood River outhit Forest Grove 9-7. The teams combined for 10 errors.
