Eagles fifth at regional girls golf tourney

Fox qualified for the 2024 Class 5A state tournament May 13-14 at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis.

“Getting Kristen to state was a good accomplishment for our program,” said Coach Mark Bauman. “The conditions there were really challenging with the wind blowing about 20 miles per hour and the temperature was about 45 degrees. Fox finished 13th overall out of 32 golfers. Muenzer qualified for state last year but fell a couple shots shy this season.

“All of our scores were higher than what we expected because of the conditions,” said Bauman. “Sierra had a tough front nine and she really competed hard until the very end. At the end of the day, it’s all about the number on the scoreboard. Unfortunately, Sierra just fell a few shots short of qualifying for state.”
