THE GORGE — Big Sky regular season champs, Sherman County, and runners up, Dufur, highlight the boys teams in this week’s 2025 district playoffs.
Sherman finished the regular season 19-4 and 12-0 in league play; the Huskies are the East Division’s top seed and earned a first-round bye. Dufur, the West Division No. 1 seed, also earned a bye; the Rangers finished the regular season 19-5, with their lone league loss to Sherman.
Sherman’s playoff schedule begins Feb. 21 when it plays at home against the winner of a first-round playoff game on Feb. 19 between West No. 2 seed, South Wasco, and either Ione/Arlington or Wheeler County. Those two teams were scheduled to play Feb. 17 at Condon to determine the East’s No. 3 seed.
Horizon Christian School clinched the league’s West No. 3 seed with its, 48-20, win Feb. 15 at Trout Lake. The victory earned the Hawks a district playoff game on Feb. 19 at East No. 2 seed, Condon. The winner of that contest will play at Dufur on Feb. 21.
The Feb. 19 winners also qualify — along with the No. 1 seeds — for the four-team district tourney Feb. 22 at The Dalles High School. The Big Sky has three automatic berths into the 1A state playoffs. The Feb. 22 schedule calls for the boys third-place game at 2 p.m. and the boys championship game at 6 p.m.
