Gordy Sato delivers roses to Brookside Manor Friday, a sort of Rotary Roses, part 2: Sato, a Hood River Rotarian and Parkdale orchardist, organizes the annual rose sale on the third Thursday of each April. (This year on April 16, the club distributed nearly 900 dozen, with all proceeds going to the scholarship fund.) Extra roses are ordered by Rotarians for people in the community, such as nursing home residents, Meals on Wheels recipients and, at Brookside, caregivers in the acute and memory care facility.
