Christy Johanson Paul and Jason Woodrow Christopher, both of Brookline, Mass., were married July 5, 2014, at Mount Hood Bed and Breakfast in Parkdale. Steve Lusk officiated.
The location had a special meaning to both bride and groom; Christy grew up in Hood River and still considers it home and Jason spent several summers training for ski racing on Mount Hood. The ceremony included a reading of "Why falling in love is like owning a dog" by Taylor Mali, read by Hannah Kingrey, Hood River Valley High School class of 2003.
The bride is the daughter of Greg and Nancy Paul, of Hood River. The groom is the son of Alex and Sue Christopher, of Reno, Nev.
Bridesmaids were Robyn Ellerbrock, Alexandra Rudnick, Bethany Noviello and Erin Linehan, friends of the bride through college and teaching.
Anna Christopher, sister of groom, was “best woman.” Groomsmen were Tom Iadecola, Jeremy Scholz, Ehsan Farkhondeh and Jerry Adler, friends of the groom from college and graduate school.
In addition to clinking glasses, guests were invited to answer a trivia question about the couple to get them to kiss.
The bride graduated from Hood River Valley High School in 2003, from Cornell University in 2007, and from Stanford University in 2012. She works as a math teacher and Director of Co-Curricular Activities at Beacon Academy in Brookline.
The groom graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2001 and MIT in 2005. He is currently a physics PhD student at Boston University.
The newlyweds will honeymoon in Europe in 2015. They have made their first home in Brookline.
