As of October, the Lyle Lions have resumed their bimonthly meetings at 6 p.m. on the first and third Mondays at the Lyle Lions Community Center.
Fall in Lyle is time for our annual eye exams at the Lyle School. Working with Lions from Oregon we screened 87 kids, grades K, 1, 3, 5, and 7. Ten referrals for glasses and/or further assessment were sent out. Vision is important for kids to do well in school.
Our local Twin Bridges Museum held their annual fundraiser at the Lyle Lions Community Center on September 23. Lions provided the building and volunteer help for the fun dinner and silent auction. Bennevitti’s provided an awesome spaghetti dinner, museum ladies made great deserts, and over $3,000 was raised by the full house.
If you missed it, we’ll do it again next year.
We also host a weekly senior lunch program on Tuesdays (have you seen our new feather flag?), and have received food donations from the community. We wish to thank Bennevetti’s and the museum, WAGAP food bank, and the Lyle Fire Department for their contributions.
Have you ever wondered who puts the flags up in Lyle for holidays like Veterans Day? Yes, it’s the Lions! As of October, the Lyle Lions have resumed their bimonthly meetings at 6 p.m. on the first and third Mondays at the Lyle Lions Community Center.
