Myron Egbert identified the 1902 Studebaker Electric in last week's history mystery. It is now on display at Fort Dalles Museum, in The Dalles, for anyone to see.
The photo is labeled “American Legion Go Cart Races,” and was taken in The Dalles in 1962 — possibly by a The Dalles Daily Chronicle photographer.
Egbert said the Harvey Aluminum company maintained the vehicle, outfitting it for the Fort Dalles Parade most years. It was still running strong in the 1960's, when he worked there.
The black-and-white negative of this photo is now item number 2018.32.1178, part of the George Lindsay Collection, at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center & Museum.
