Beth Hukari recognized last week’s mystery photo as a float from Hood River Memorial hospital, going down a Parkdale street in 1958. Parkdale used to have big parades, said Hukari, whose mother participated along with her twin sister. The event seems to have fizzled out a few years later, she said.

Visible in the background are the rooflines of Parkdale’s hardware store and the building that’s now Apple Valley BBQ.
