Gorge Winds hosts spring concert

THE DALLES — The Gorge Winds Concert Band will perform its Spring Concert twice at a new venue, the First Christian Church, at 909 Court Street in The Dalles. The first performance will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17. The second performance will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

Conductor Ian Monahan has selected a variety of music by outstanding composers and arrangers. The program will include several up-tempo numbers written for concert bands, beautiful arrangements of the poignant ballads “Shenandoah” and “Danny Boy,” two pieces with a Latin flavor and even a famous march or two. General admission is $10, families $20, seniors $5 and children under 12 free.
