County Fair returns July 26-29
The Hood River County Fair returns to the Hood River County Fairgrounds, 3020 Wy'east Road, Hood River, Wednesday through Saturday, July 26-29. The fair is a traditional, family-friendly county fair, with entertainment, activities for all ages, exhibits and displays, carnival and midway fun and much more.

Jim MacMillan, 1953-2017
The Gorge music community is mourning the passing of Jim MacMillan, who died July 7. A well-respected songwriter and guitarist, Jim’s trio released two CDs of music he termed evolving or eclectic folk, including “Celilo.” In a 2013 interview MacMillan said, “I have collected photos about Celilo Falls for 30 years. Over the years I have talked with a number of people who were there that day when the Falls disappeared and it always brings tears to my eyes.” Jim was a board member of CGOA and a founding member of VOCI, and was involved in numerous CAST productions. — Jim Drake

Springhouse Ruins Tuesday

Art & Wine Fusion July 22
On Saturday, July 22, the White Salmon Art & Wine Fusion festival returns featuring the Greenneck Daredevils, The Resolectrics, The Weather Machine, Will West & The Friendly Strangers and more! Music starts at 2 p.m. on the main stage. Special street activities include stilt walkers, magicians, and kid activities. Non Tasting entry is $4 for 21+ years of age and $1 for under. Tasting package includes entrance fee. Located at Rheingarten Park.
Katie Pearlman at Griffin House
Katie Pearlman will be performing an outdoor house concert at The Griffin House on Sunday, July 16.
“Absorbing the musical culture that is New Orleans, Katie mastered her “soulful” sound, picking up instruments like piano and baritone ukelele to help fuse her new understanding of Jazz with her singer/songwriter side. What results is a delicious blend of smokey, soulful- pop music, with intimate storytelling inspired by the likes of Lauryn Hill, Joni Mitchell and Neil young.”

National Live Theater at CCA
National Theatre Live is the National Theatre’s groundbreaking project to broadcast world-class theatre to venues around the world. Columbia Center for the Arts in Hood River recently obtained the rights to bring this exciting theatrical experience to the communities of the Gorge.
Each broadcast is filmed in front of a live audience in one of the premiere London theatres, with cameras carefully positioned throughout the auditorium to ensure that cinema audiences get the ‘best seat in the house’ view of each production. Where these cameras are placed is different for each broadcast, to make sure that cinema audiences enjoy the best possible experience every time. Satellites then allow the productions to be broadcast live to select theatre venues around the globe.
NT Live productions feature the best of the best actors working in theatre today. The Columbia Center for the Arts is proud to present the following productions in 2017:
