Discovery Center hosts Harvest Moon Walk

“Along the way, volunteer guides will provide interpretation of the astronomical landscape we can see from the Discovery Center’s Riverfront trail,” said a press release. “Once the sun sets and the moon rises, guests will be able to view the moon through telescopes and spotting scopes.”

The trail is paved and wheelchair accessible, but expect to walk or travel about a mile. The event is outdoors and weather dependent, so check with the museum the day of the event at 541-296-8600 or gorgediscovery.org.

All are welcome, but pets should be left at home.

Coming up is the fourth annual Columbia River Indian Autumn on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free and will feature Native artisans and exhibitors, dance and storytelling.
