The Mid-Columbia Fellowship of Churches annual meeting and catered dinner is Saturday, March 1, at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church, 305 E. 11th St, The Dalles. This event is open to all interested persons and reservations are required by Monday, Feb. 24. Tickets are $14 apiece, and are available at participating churches: First United Methodist, St. Paul‘s Episcopal, St. Peter Catholic Church, United Church of Christ Congregational and Zion Lutheran.
The event speaker is Steve Ross, assistant to the bishop of the United Methodist Church of the Oregon-Idaho Conference, who will focus on options for congregations to work more closely together.
The Tuesday, Feb. 25, Mid-Columbia Fellowship of Churches forum, at 5 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, will feature Ashley Schulze, resident services director at The Springs at Mill Creek. She will talk about transitioning into a senior living community.
First Christian Church
First Christian Church has three services each weekend: A Friday night potluck and message, starting at 7 p.m.; Saturday Night Live begins at 6 p.m. with praise music then the message; and Sunday morning starts with Bible study at 9:15 a.m., then the Gospel message for all, beginning at 10:30 a.m. A new adult Bible study class is on marriage and will be headed up by Pastor Mike Wilson and his wife, Karen, starting Sunday, Feb. 9.
Gateway Presbyterian
Services on Sunday include an 8:30 a.m. traditional and 11 a.m. contemporary service. Adult, youth and children’s classes are held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Wednesday classes begin at 6 p.m. and include youth group, women’s study on Margaret Feinberg’s “Wonder Struck,” men’s study and Parenting TODAY, which begins at 5:30. Childcare provided during classes.
Thursdays is men’s Bible study at 6:30 a.m., and ACTS after school.
