SO MANY reasons to dance when Families in the Park returns Aug. 4 for the 2016 season.
Patrick MulvihillFamilies in the Park is back.
Gather Thursday with your neighbors for a free evening of music, food, and information.
In addition to ‘80s hits from headliners Radical Revolution at 7 p.m., the Hood River County Emergency Services department will host a “Get Your Shake On Dance Party,” starting at 6 p.m. This a chance to dance and learn about earthquake preparedness.
Barbecue hotdogs or hamburgers will be cooked by the Hood River Fire Department volunteers, with proceeds going to support CPR classes and other education services by the department. The event, each Thursday in August, is free and open to all. A Kidz Zone Dental is lead sponsor of the series of summer concerts, a long-standing Hood River Community Education tradition.
Next week, local bands provide an evening of lively folk, with Wilson, Fifer and Rose warming up at 6 p.m. for The Junebugs on stage at the park.
With Families in the Park, you can bring a picnic or purchase food and other treats, and non-alcoholic drinks from local vendors, and get ready to dance on the lawn.
At the Aug. 18 and Aug. 25 events, warm-up events will be, respectively, Fit2 Go tumbling, and a Minoru Yasui tribute with Taiko drumming.
