I-84 Reopened: The interstate is now open between Hood River and Troutdale after a nearly 30-hour shut down. Chains are required between milepost 37 to 63. Traction tires allowed in place of chains on vehicles under 10,000 gross vehicle weight and not towing. Vehicles towing must use chains.. According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, crews worked through the night laying down sand, salt and deicer but advise that some areas remain slick. Closure SR 14 both directions: Due to weather, SR 14 is closed in both directions to all traffic from milepost 18 near Gibbons Creek to milepost 65 near Hood River Bridge Road beginning at 4:11 p.m. on Jan. 17 until further notice. Map Location.
Weather advisory US 97 both directions: Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 16, until further notice: Due to weather conditions, traction tires are required for all passengers vehicles in both direction of US 97 from milepost 0 near Biggs Rapids / Sam Hill to milepost 16 near Chain Up Area. All vehicles over 10,000 GVW are restricted from traveling through this area. Map Location. (Jan. 17 update.)
North Central Public Health District: Closed Thursday, Jan. 18, due to ongoing severe weather.Â
Wasco County offices: Closed Jan. 18 due to continued severe weather. Emergency services will operate as usual.Â
Klickitat County Pioneer Center offices: Closed Jan. 18.
KLICKITAT COUNTY – Due to current and forecasted winter weather conditions, icy road conditionsand for the safety of County employees and County residents, the Klickitat County Board of County Commissioners have closed all Klickitat County Offices for January 18, 2024 for non-essential personnel. The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce 2024 Distinguished Citizens Awards Banquet: Postponed. Was slated for Jan. 18.
