Weather update: Cancelations and late start information for Wednesday, Jan. 17

Closure SR 14 both directions

Due to current weather conditions, traction tires are required for passenger vehicles, semis over 10,000 GVW are restricted from traveling on SR 14 in both directions from milepost 18 near Gibbons Creek to milepost 65 near Hood River Bridge Road until further notice.

THE GORGE — Below is a list of cancelations and late starts scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 17; this is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available. 

Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Gilliam, and Wheeler Circuit Courts: Closed.

Hood River County offices: Closed.

Hood River County Library District: Hood River, Parkdale, and Cascade Locks locations all closed.

North Central Public Health District: Closed.

Wasco County offices: Closed all day; emergency services will remain open. 

City of the Dalles offices: Closed.

Klickitat County offices: Closed.

Riverview Bank: Closures and early closures at riverviewbank.com, (Update.)

Mid-Columbia Children's Council: All centers are now closed. (Update.)

Columbia Gorge Community College: Both campuses closed.

Hood River County School District: Closed. 

White Salmon School District: Closed.

North Wasco County School District: Closed. "We strongly encourage all families to stay home and off the road as ice accumulation is expected overnight," said a district press release.

Sherman County School District: Closed.

Trout Lake School District: Closed.

Glenwood School District: Closed.

Lyle School District: Closed.

Stevenson-Carson School District: Closed. All events and athletics canceled.

Skamania School District 2: Closed due to frozen pipes. 

Mill A School District: Closed.

Wishram School District: Closed. (Update.)

OCDC Headstart: The Dalles and Odell closed / cerrado el miercoles.

Dufur School District: Closed but operating remotely.

South Wasco County School District: Closed.

Klickitat School District: Closed. (Update.)

CGOA has canceled the Chamber Music Concert for this Sunday, Jan. 21, due to weather issues. It will be rescheduled for a date in February. (Update.)

Columbia Area Transit has postponed its January board meeting scheduled Jan. 17 to Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 4 p.m. (Update.)

The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce 2024 Distinguished Citizens Awards Banquet: Postponed. Was slated for Jan. 18. (Update.)
