Volunteers are being sought to help set up this year’s Halloween Haunted House at the White Salmon Masonic Lodge beginning Saturday, Oct. 28 through Monday, Oct. 30.
“Setting up the building is not hard but requires extra hands and time to put it together,” said a Community Partners press release. “We have many items but welcome a loan of your décor or items.”
Volunteers are also needed for props and to serve as guides and door greeters. Those wishing to help during the haunted house event from 4:30-7 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31, must pre-register. Sign up through the chamber — 509-493-3630 or mtadamschamber@gmail.com.
“We will want to know what you will wear and determine your station,” said the press release.
Specifically, the group is seeking a fortune teller, witches, a crazy scientist, zombies and skeletons, “and weird and wacky whatevers — we will find a place for you,” said the release.
Upstairs is a non-scary fun zone, and volunteers are needed to provide fun, simple activities for children or hand out candy. Anyone who can stay after closing to help with tear down and clean up is also appreciated. Packing up will begin Wednesday morning, Nov. 1, at 8 a.m., with the intent of the job being completed by noon.
More than 1,300 visitors — both kids and parents — participated in last year’s event.
Those with questions are asked to contact the committee through the contacts listed above.
