HOOD RIVER — The Mid-Columbia Association of Realtors (MCAR) has received a $5,000 Community Outreach Grant from the National Association of Realtors® for the second year in a row. The funding will support the Gorge Homebuyer Fair, a free, bilingual event scheduled for Sept. 25 from 5–7 p.m. at the Hood River Armory.
The event is designed to encourage homeownership across the Gorge region by connecting residents with education, resources, and local experts.
“Homeownership is more than buying a house — it’s building stability, equity, and a stronger community. The Gorge Homebuyer Fair helps families take that first step with the tools and guidance they need to succeed,” said Shay Ryan-Blakeslee, chair of MCAR’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
The fair will feature a wide range of vendors, including Realtors, mortgage lenders, residential loan officers from local banks, agencies offering down-payment assistance, escrow and title companies, financial advisors, residential building contractors, and other homeownership experts. To ensure accessibility, all educational materials will be available in both Spanish and English.
Attendees can look forward to informative sessions and the opportunity to engage directly with professionals who understand the complexities of the home-buying process.
