THE DALLES — Four Rivers Family Early Learning and Parenting Hub has created a free text messaging system to connect families with young children to local resources, activities, and events.
Families can sign up for the Early Bird Texting service to receive personalized recommendations that cater to their individual interests or needs. These texts can include information on preschool enrollment, free family activities, parenting classes, child development resources, or community events.
The goal of the service is to avoid the difficulty of sifting through social media pages or websites for local childcare updates.
Once registered, parents can choose the types of messages they would like to receive, including: local family events, parenting resources and classes, preschool and kindergarten readiness information, early childhood programs and more. Families can also select their preferred language and county to receive more personalized information.
“Families told us they wanted an easier way to learn about opportunities in their communities,” said a Four Rivers Family media release. “Early Bird Texting helps bring trusted information directly to parents, saving time and helping ensure they don’t miss important programs, deadlines, or free family activities.”
Four Rivers Family is inviting community partners, including schools, healthcare organizations, and libraries, to promote Early Bird Texting within their circles.
Families can register by visiting the Four Rivers website at www.fourriversfamily.org/earlybirdtexts or text “FOURRIVERS” to 877-899-2160.
