HOOD RIVER — Applications are being accepted through April 5 at 5 p.m. for Visit Hood River’s 2024 Community Investment Matching Grant Program, designed to support businesses and community economic vitality in the greater Hood River area.
Up to $50,000 will be awarded in total for all projects. The focus is on economic vitality and sustainability and responsible destination development in collaboration with local leaders.
The program uses both public and private funds. Each project requires its own application, and applicants must demonstrate the ability to meet the matching funding requirements.
Katie Kadlub, CEO of Visit Hood River, said, “VHR is honored to provide this opportunity annually. The program is committed to supporting projects that foster the development of new events, programs, and initiatives, which contribute to the enhancement, promotion, and sustainability of Hood River as a destination.”
Since its inception in 2022, the program has awarded $39,300 in matching grants to businesses and organizations throughout the Gorge. Examples include support for a nonprofit focused on watersports activities and water safety, funding for The Heights Music Showcase, and assistance in developing collateral and online advertising for lodging properties to boost mid-week visitation.
The VHR Community Investment Matching Grant Program application and guidelines are available on the Visit Hood River website, visithoodriver.com, in English and Spanish.
