Gorge geology field trip Oct. 11; registration deadline Oct. 9

THE GORGE — Have you always wondered about the unusual rock formations of the Gorge? Here’s your chance to explore “deep time” with a professional geologist. Lloyd DeKay will shift your way of seeing and thinking about this special place as we travel back in time to imagine a Columbia Gorge millions of years ago. We will come away with a greater understanding of the awesome forces of lava, water and time and our perspective will never be the same!

This all-day trip is hosted by the Gorge chapter of the Oregon State University Extension Naturalist Program. The date is Saturday, Oct. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will travel by bus between Hood River and The Dalles with stops on both the Oregon and Washington sides. The registration deadline is Oct. 9.
