THE GORGE — OSU Hood River County Extension Central Gorge Master Gardeners invite home gardeners of all skill levels to attend the next installment of the Garden Gathering series: a workshop on Drip Irrigation, presented by Steve Castagnoli, a former Extension Horticulturist. This free and informative session will cover the basics of drip irrigation, an efficient watering method that conserves water while keeping gardens healthy and thriving.
Participants will learn how to design and install a drip irrigation system, the benefits of drip irrigation over traditional watering methods, and practical tips for maintaining an efficient system throughout the growing season. Whether you’re new to drip irrigation or looking to refine your system, this session will provide valuable insights and hands-on guidance.
Two sessions of the Garden Gathering Drip Irrigation workshop will be held at different times and locations:
Saturday, April 12, 10 a.m. at OSU Hood River County Extension, 2990 Experiment Station Drive, Hood River,
Tuesday, April 15, 6:30 p.m. at the White Salmon Library, 77 NE Wauna Ave., White Salmon
Castagnoli, an experienced horticulturist and educator, will lead the workshop. With years of expertise in plant science and irrigation techniques, Castagnoli will provide practical knowledge that attendees can apply to their home gardens.
“Drip irrigation is very efficient and a good option for most home gardens. Many people think drip irrigation is complicated, but with a few simple components and a little planning, anyone can set up a system that saves water, time and effort in the long run,” said Castagnoli.
