High school athletic department personnel have been working the phones lately to reschedule early-January games that were cancelled because of bad weather.
Columbia High's boys and girls basketball teams will make up previously scheduled games against Ridgefield here on Wednesday, Jan. 21, CHS athletic director Howard Kreps announced Tuesday.
A boys/girls varsity double-header in Miller Memorial Gym will tip off at 5:45 p.m. with a boys game. That will be followed by a girls game.
Henkle Middle School's gym will be the site of a girls/boys junior varsity double-header. The girls will play first at 5:45.
Then, on Friday, Jan. 30, all four CHS teams will travel to Ridgefield for varsity and jayvee double-headers. (CHS's girls originally were scheduled to host Ridgefield on Thursday, Jan. 29.)
The order of play for the varsity squads will be girls at 5:45 p.m., followed by the boys, at Ridgefield High School. For the jayvees, it will be boys first at 5:45, then girls, at View Ridge Middle School.
Games against Wahtonka and La Center have not been rescheduled yet, Kreps noted.
Columbia High's home wrestling match against Woodland, set for Tuesday, Jan. 13, has been moved to Thursday, Jan. 22, at 6 p.m.. A make-up date for CHS's Jan. 6 home match with Castle Rock is in the works.
Lyle's boys and girls basketball teams will make up games at Bickleton on Tuesday, Jan. 20. The triple-header will tip off with a boys jayvee game at 4:30 p.m.
Games against Sherman County and Wahtonka may not be rescheduled, according to Lyle athletic director David Barthlow.
