Underwood riders plan poker ride

Riders can start as early as 8 a.m. and must be out by 10:30 a.m. at the latest.

For $5 per hand, riders draw the first card at the starting point. There are manned stations along the trail, where riders draw additional cards. When the loop is completed, riders hands are figured and documented.

There are many prizes available. The best hand chooses the prize the rider wants, the second best hand chooses next and so on.

There will be a hamburger lunch available for $5.

All proceeds from the ride benefit the Young Riders 4-H Club. The money will be used to send kids to horse clinics, horse camp, weekly riding lessons and decorations for stalls at the Skamania County Fair.

The Young Riders ride at least once a week at the Underwood Arena. There is a monthly business meeting in Bingen.
