Reps. Bruce Chandler and David Taylor are inviting local residents of the 15th District to participate in their telephone town hall meeting today, Dec. 8. The hour-long event, which is like a call-in radio show, will begin at 6:35 p.m. To participate, people should call 1-877-229-8493 and enter 15540.
"This is an excellent opportunity for folks back in district to touch base with us in Olympia from the comfort of their own homes," said Chandler (R-Granger). "We've got a lot of issues before us as we debate our state's budget situation. The decisions we make today will impact all Washingtonians for years to come. We'd like to hear the thoughts and opinions of those in the 15th Legislative District as we debate these issues with our colleagues in the Legislature."
"It's always good to hear from those we represent, especially during session," said Taylor (R-Moxee). "We look forward to answering questions and exchanging ideas on the economy, our state's budget shortfall, the governor's tax increase proposal, or any other areas of interest."
The special session began Nov. 28 and is scheduled to run 30 days. The governor called the special session to address the state's $2 billion budget shortfall. The 60-day regular legislative session is set to start Jan. 8, 2012.
