Caitlyn Shortt wins dual state titles

Former Hood River Valley High School swimming standout Caitlyn Shortt won the 200 Individual Medley and 100 backstroke state titles on Saturday at the Mt. Hood Aquatic Center. Shortt, a junior at Reynolds High School, was one-tenth of a second away from breaking the state record in the 200 IM (2:02.70), and won the 100 back by more than a full second (57.42). Both Shortt’s times were All-American qualifying times.
