Losses to Ridgefield and Woodland last week dropped Columbia High's junior varsity squad's record to 6-5.
The Junior Bruins fell to the Spudniks, 25-20, 25-18, 15-8 there last Thursday.
One of the highlights for the Junior Bruins was the serving of Dani Gilderhus. The sophomore completed 7-of-7 serves at Ridgefield and through 11 matches has not had one service error.
Gilderhus was one of four Junior Bruins to connect on 100 percent of her serves against the Spudniks.
The others were sophomore Erin McCutcheon (4/4), sophomore Ashley Neff (2/2) and freshman Jenny Pulido (2/2). Freshman Kara Woosley was 9 for 10 from the stripe.
At the net, freshman Michele Shrum went 3 for 3 in spike attempts and Gilderhus was 2 for 3. Defensively, freshman Brooke Hathaway stood out, converting 4-of-5 dig chances.
Against Woodland here Oct. 14, Columbia dropped three straight, 25-7, 25-20, 25-11.
Gilderhus paced a quintet of 100-percent servers, putting 9 of 9 in play. Woosley was 5 for 5, followed by Neff, Pulido and Shrum (3 for 3 each).
Neff led CHS with five attacks, three good. Gilderhus went 3 for 3 in spike attempts, and McCutcheon and Pulido both were 2 for 2.
Woosley sparked CHS's defensive effort, going 5 for 6 in digs. Shrum and Neff had four digs apiece, while Gilderhus, Puliod, McCutcheon and Ashley St. George each got credit for three.

La Center capitalized on two Columbia High turnovers to score twice in the first 5:10 of Monday night's junior varsity contest at CHS Stadium on its way to a 26-0 victory.
The Li'l Cats put their six points on the board with 9:13 remaining in the first quarter, on an 8-yard run.
La Center set up the scoring drive when one of its own recovered a muffed reception of the opening kickoff at the Junior Bruins' 30-yard line.
One minute later, a bad center-quarterback exchange on CHS's first series of the game ended in a La Center fumble recovery at the home team's 34.
The Li'l Cats scored from 6-yards out at the 6:50 mark to make it 13-0. CHS sophomore Matt Cooley blocked the point-after try.
Later in the first, sophomore Joey Stokes fell on a La Center fumble at the CHS 41 on a fourth-and-4 play.
However, the Junior Bruins couldn't get anything going and eventually turned the ball over on towns.
La Center increased its lead to 20-0 with 3:46 remaining in the second quarter on a 30-yard touchdown run and a good PAT conversion, following CHS's third lost fumble of the half.
