Glass in the Gorge is holding it's second conference in The Dalles at Cousins Restaurant, on March 8, 9 and 10.
This year promises to be double the size and capacity, due to the overwhelming response of last year's participants.
Glass in the Gorge is holding it's second conference in The Dalles at Cousins Restaurant, on March 8, 9 and 10.
This year promises to be double the size and capacity, due to the overwhelming response of last year's participants.
Some of this year's changes include holding the conference over three days, increasing class listings and doubling student capacity.
More teachers have been added to the roster and additional guest artists have been invited to showcase their work.
Classes on Friday and Saturday include Bolshoy Marbles From the Fire Bucket (Andy Nichols); Glass Fusing 101 (Linda Steider); Introduction to Lampworking (Mike Andrews and Craig Graffius); Basic Beadmaking (Dave Cutler); Pate De Verre (Cliff Clason); and Sculpture Basics (Harry Horn).
Classes are $110 each and include all tools and supplies.
Each class will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Sunday's "Glass Extravaganza" will showcase the work of Portland area and Gorge area artists; locals include Mike Andrews, Craig Graffius, Jess Caudill, Dave Cutler, Peggy Progler, Cliff Clason, Andy Nichols,Lee Lynn Thompson, Harry Horn, and Linda Steider.
Demonstrations will be performed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The public is invited to attend with no admission charge.
