The American Red Cross is holding babysitter's training courses for children from ages 11-15 on Friday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its Hood River office, 1100 E. Marina Way #103.
The class will give each student training for real life babysitting situations, including leadership skills, infant and child care giving tips, safety skills and first aid to prevent and react to emergencies, and great tips on professionalism and job finding.
This course is ideal for current and future babysitters, it includes everything a babysitter will need to know and everything a parent wants from a responsible babysitter.
The course has been approved by the Girl and Boy Scouts of America, YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and 4-H.
The class is a great way to start a child off babysitting with peace of mind that the babysitter has the skills and knowledge to react in any situation.
Cost of the class is $35 and includes a babysitter's handbook for use during class and also on the job.
Scholarships are available through the Red Cross. Pre-registration is required.
