Noted author and naturalist Robert Michael Pyle will give a reading from his many books on Monday, July 22, 4 p.m. at Maryhill Museum of Art.
Among Pyle's many books are Chasing Monarchs: A Migration with the Butterflies of Passage; Where Bigfoot Walks: Crossing the Dark Divide; The Thunder Tree: Lessons from An Urban Wildland. His most recent book is Walking the High Ridge: Life as Field Trip. Some of
these books will be available at the Museum.
"The titles of his books are a strong indication of how engaging a writer he is," said Colleen Schafroth, executive director. "This reading will provide a great opportunity to discover where he gets his ideas from and what motivates him."
Pyle received his bachelor of science degree in nature perception and protection and a master's in nature interpretation from the University of Washington followed by a doctorate in butterfly conservation ecology from Yale University.
