The Hood River County Historical Museum will host a free two-hour workshop on Thursday, April 27, from 7 to 9 p.m.
The "Family Preservation on a Budget" workshop will demonstrate how to preserve your family heirlooms and treasures using the same tools and methods used by museums.
Museum director Connie Nice will facilitate the workshop.
"There is an increased interest in scrapbooking and family memory preservation. I want to show people how easy and inexpensive it is to care for their family belongings to ensure that they will remain in good shape as they are passed from family member to family member."
In addition to showing how common everyday items can be used in preservation, Nice will also provide information on where supplies, such as acid free papers and storage boxes, can be purchased.
There will be a limited number of supplies for sale at the museum.
The workshop is free to the public and does not require advance registration.
