Mabton 41, at Lyle 30:
The Cougars gave the Vikings all they could handle in a Friday night GCB matchup.
Jessica Cochenour sank two free throws with 7:30 remaining in the contest to bring Lyle within 28-25 and add momentum to its upset bid.
The effort picked up steam late in the third quarter.
After trailing 20-11 at halftime, the Cougars rallied by playing gritty defense and executing their set offenses.
They eventually cut the Vikings' lead to five (28-23) in the final 44 seconds of the period with Jessica Struck's 3-pointer and a free throw by Cochenour.
But Mabton fended off Lyle by scoring 13 of the game's last 18 points to win going away.
