A 15-year-old North Bonnevile teen was killed when the vehicle he was riding in was involved in an accident Sunday, April 1, at approximately 4:39 p.m.

The accident occurred at milepost 34, two miles west of North Bonneville, on State Route 14.

According to the report, Jenna R. Martinez, 22, North Bonneville, was driving a 1990 Jeep Wrangler eastbound on SR 14. The vehicle traveled off the roadway to the right. The vehicle collided with a dirt berm, causing it to go airborne over an embankment. The front of the vehicle then collided with a large boulder and rolled onto its top where it came to rest.

John A. Martinez, 15, was not wearing a restraint at the time of the accident and was killed.

Jenna Martinez, who was wearing a sealbelt, suffered bruises and was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. Other passengers in the vehicle included: Ariel M. Brisbois, 15, Cook, a fractured back, not wearing a seatbelt; Tyauna M. Martinez, two months, North Bonneville, not injured, wearing a restraint; Braelinn A. Martinez, 2, North Bonneville, cuts and bruises, wearing a restraint; Matthew Martinez, 17, North Bonneville, shoulder pain, wearing a seatbelt. Injured passengers were all transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center.

According to the report, the driver fell asleep. Charges are pending the state patrol investigation. Drugs/alcohol were not involved.
